Diane Hughes, jail superintendent (Advanced Correctional Healthcare), presented agreements with Striker for a Lucas device (mechanical CPR device) and additional automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Member Tomkins moved and Member Hansen seconded the agreement; Hughes said the purchase represents a technology update to meet needs of incarcerated individuals and staff. The motion carried.
The committee also approved a request (item 4D1A) to authorize nursing‑home managers to offer salaries above the initial starting salary per code section 108‑28; Member Tomkins moved, Member Farley seconded, and the motion passed. Committee members noted that personnel discussions related to this authority could proceed in closed session if necessary.
