City Manager reports 13 new home permits, downtown tour rescheduled, and local business activity

City Manager Eric Smith reported to the Englewood City Council on Jan. 13 that the city has issued 13 new home permits in the Westbrook Meadows subdivision, which contains 26 available lots. Smith also said the Englewood Government Center is receiving cosmetic improvements, including new paint and carpet in the council chambers, administration area and basement.
Smith reported that Meijer has started a $3 million renovation project in the city and that Sweet Tooth Candy is hosting a grand opening on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Torch Event Space. He also noted that city offices at the Englewood Government Center will be closed on Jan. 19 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Development Director William Singer informed the council that the downtown walking tour was rescheduled to Feb. 2 at 4 p.m., starting in the parking lot behind Café 19.
