The Bolton Inland Wetlands Commission on Oct. 28 voted unanimously to table application IW‑25‑16, a proposal to construct a soccer field at Herrick Park, after commissioners said the plans lacked drainage details and a clear field size.
Wetlands Agent Alyssa Barroso displayed the plans and pointed out silt‑fence locations; Joseph Dillion, who reviewed the application, said, "there are no wetlands around work." Commissioners nevertheless pressed for more detail on surface and subsurface drainage. Vice Chair James Loersch asked that the plan include exact field dimensions; Dillion said the field would be standard size and agreed to add that to the plan. Acting Chair Michael McDonnell recommended replacing an existing pipe with a perforated pipe to address drainage concerns, and Dillion said he would make that change.
Loersch moved to table IW‑25‑16 and require the applicant to resubmit with more information on pipes, drainage locations and the field size; Member David Lynn seconded. The motion carried unanimously, 4‑0‑0.
The Commission’s vote requires the applicant to return with updated plans showing specific drainage solutions and the field dimensions before the Commission will take further action.
