The Board of Trustees voted March 16, 2026 to identify the application of Zahid and Uzma Syed for property alterations at 136 I.U. Willets Road as an unlisted action and issued a negative declaration under SEQRA. The Board then approved the application subject to additional screening by the Planning Board.
The application described a range of proposed work including a new driveway, curb cut, brick walls, stacked block walls, entry piers and gates, a guardhouse, an outdoor masonry bar, catch basins, yard drains, a septic tank, and drainage systems. Minutes state these proposed structures are located within a conservation easement and therefore require Board approval and further Planning Board screening.
The motion was moved by Trustee Jeffrey Brown, seconded by Trustee Andrew Weinberg, and recorded as carried. The minutes do not include a roll-call vote tally. The Planning Board’s additional screening is a condition of the Board’s approval.
