Brown Plus presented the Susquehanna Township Authority's 2024 audit during the Jan. 6 meeting and reported a clean opinion, a result Manager Theresa Eberly described as "a clean audit." Scott Henry of Brown Plus reviewed asset valuations and recommended that escrow balances be collected in advance rather than afterward.
The auditors and staff laid out the system's scale: stormwater assets total approximately $10 million, furniture and fixtures account for roughly $2 million, and sanitary sewer stations and assets are about $66 million. Joel Kostelac of GHD told the board that "the sanitary sewer system includes approximately 150 miles of pipe," a figure staff said drives the larger asset value for the sewer system.
The presentation noted no audit exceptions. Brown Plus advised management to consider collecting escrow balances up front to reduce post‑project reconciliation work. Manager Eberly and Finance Manager Traci Eismann were both thanked by the auditors for their assistance in the audit process.
No formal action was required on the audit itself beyond acceptance of the report; auditors' recommendations will be considered as staff finalizes year‑end procedures and escrow administration.
