The Town of Rumford Select Board voted Oct. 16 to set the 2025–26 mil rate at 18.73. Select Board member Brennick moved the measure and Select Board member Theriault seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
The mil rate establishes the town’s property tax rate for the coming fiscal year and will be used to calculate tax bills issued this winter. At the same meeting the board set the 2025–26 property tax installment due dates: first installment due Nov. 1, 2025, and second installment due April 1, 2026. Brennick moved the due-date motion, DiConzo seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
In addition to the mil-rate and due-date votes, the board voted to recognize the town’s individual designated fund balances as of June 30, 2025 (motion by Brennick, seconded by DiConzo; vote 5-0). The board approved Warrant #16 (motion by DiConzo, seconded by Theriault; vote 5-0) and approved minutes from Sept. 4 and Sept. 18, 2025 (motion by DiConzo, seconded by Theriault; vote 5-0).
No public discussion or dissent on the mil rate was recorded in the minutes. The board conducted its routine business before moving into several executive sessions later in the evening. The meeting adjourned after the final executive session; the minutes record the adjournment motion passed 3-1.
The mil-rate decision takes effect for the 2025–26 fiscal year; the town will issue tax bills consistent with the schedule set by the board.
