Under the program, eligible Rocky Mountain Power customers in the county will have an opt‑out period and may cancel at no fee during the cancellation period; the ordinance directs staff to coordinate needed outreach and implementation steps. The commission did not identify an implementation vendor at the meeting; the program was described as approved at the state level by the Utah Public Service Commission in March 2026.
The county’s action offers a new billing‑based clean energy option to customers rather than an immediate change to county operations or purchases. Staff will follow up on outreach and any logistical work required to notify customers during opt‑out windows.
