The Liberty County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the preliminary plat for Laurel View East Tract B on May 21, allowing 147 single-family lots to move forward in the planning process.
Mardee Sanchez, representing the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission (LCPC), presented the preliminary plat for Laurel View East Tract B, a subdivision proposed off Sunbury Road in District 4. The LCPC recommended approval subject to standard and special conditions. County Attorney Kelly Davis reviewed a Transportation Improvement Contribution Agreement and described how the Laurel View Tract B project interacts with the county’s transportation assessment requirements.
Kate Oppenheimer, a representative of engineering firm Thomas & Hutton, addressed the Board and answered questions. Following the presentations and staff responses to commissioners’ questions, Commissioner C. Timmy Blount moved to approve the preliminary plat with the LCPC-recommended standard and special conditions; Commissioner Marion Stevens seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The approval is for the preliminary plat stage; the meeting record does not specify final plat conditions, surety amounts or construction schedules, which are typically resolved during subsequent review and permitting steps.
