Guy Piserchia sworn in as Long Hill mayor; Matthew Dorsi named deputy mayor

The meeting was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by Township Clerk Megan Phillips, who read the required Open Public Meetings Act notice. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem, Senator Jon Bramnick administered the oath of office to Victor T. Verlezza on his third term as a township committeeman. Committeeman Matthew Dorsi nominated Guy Piserchia for mayor; the nomination was seconded by Committeewoman Reichard-Eline, nominations were closed, and the committee approved Piserchia by unanimous roll call. Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi administered the oath to Piserchia.
Shortly afterward, Committeeman Scott Lavender nominated Matthew Dorsi for deputy mayor; Committeeman Verlezza seconded the nomination. The committee elected Dorsi by roll call. Assemblywoman Munoz and Assemblywoman Matsikoudis administered the deputy-mayor oath; the official record of the roll call and sequence of events indicates the oath was given to Deputy Mayor Matthew Dorsi (the meeting transcript includes an apparent clerical error that lists Piserchia as the recipient of that specific oath text; the committee's roll call and election sequence show Dorsi was elected deputy mayor).
Mayor Piserchia delivered the State of the Township following the oaths. The committee then proceeded to adopt a slate of appointments and administrative resolutions for 2026.
The meeting ended after a brief public-comment period in which no members of the public spoke. On motion of Deputy Mayor Dorsi, seconded by Committeeman Lavender, the committee adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
