Boone County supervisors approve consent agenda, appoint Veterans Affairs commissioner and adopt 2026 drainage levies

At their May 27 meeting the Boone County Board of Supervisors approved the consent agenda including personnel pay adjustments and a resignation, adopted Resolution 26-20 for a credit card program, approved 2026 drainage levies, appointed Jodi Tymeson as Veterans Affairs commissioner and signed Amendment No. 3 to the Drug Task Force 28E agreement.
Boone County Board of Supervisors Chairman Erich Kretzinger convened the board at 9:00 a.m. May 27. Supervisors Shawn Bryant and Scott Longhorn were present and the board approved the posted agenda.
The board approved its consent agenda, which included May 20, 2026 meeting minutes; multiple pay adjustments for county employees; placement on file of recovery fines and the sheriff’s office fee report for April 2026; and issuance of warrants to pay county and drainage claims. The record shows county claims totaling $348,767.03 and a drainage claim totaling $18,543.00. The board also accepted the resignation of Chris Call, a full-time Conservation Park Ranger, effective June 5, 2026. The motion to accept Call’s resignation was moved by Supervisor Shawn Bryant and seconded by Supervisor Scott Longhorn; the board recorded the vote as all ayes and the motion carried.
Supervisor Scott Longhorn moved and Supervisor Shawn Bryant seconded approval of Resolution 26-20, an organization resolution and agreement for the county credit card program. The board approved the resolution; a full copy is available in the auditor’s office.
The board adopted the 2026 Boone County drainage levies. A multi-district assessment table and related balances were presented as part of the record and placed on file.
During a veterans affairs item, Veterans Affairs Director Steve Cunningham and VA Commissioner Roger Plath noted a vacancy on the commission. Plath said he will step down after 12 years and shift to an advisory role. The board approved appointing Jodi Tymeson as Boone County Veterans Affairs Commissioner, effective July 1, 2026.
County Attorney Matt Speers led discussion of Amendment No. 3 to the 28E Intergovernmental Agreement for Combined Law Enforcement Investigations of Controlled Substances (the Drug Task Force). Supervisor Scott Longhorn moved and Supervisor Shawn Bryant seconded approval to sign the amendment; the board approved the amendment.
After completing the agenda, the board moved to adjourn at 10:35 a.m. The meeting record is attested by Diane R. Patrick, county auditor.
