South Londonderry supervisors reappoint officials, approve wages, bond and bank depositories

South Londonderry Township’s Board of Supervisors met for its annual reorganization on Jan. 6, 2025 in Palmyra, reappointing officers and township officials and approving administrative and financial housekeeping measures. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Township Manager John Eberly.
Faith Bucks was appointed Chairwoman and Jack Custer was appointed Vice-Chairman in motions that were moved and seconded by the two supervisors and recorded as carried. The board reappointed John Eberly as Manager/Secretary/Treasurer/Open Records Officer. Richie Deibert was appointed Assistant Secretary and Mandy Braden was appointed Assistant Treasurer. William (Bill) Reigle was reappointed Police Chief; the board also designated the South Londonderry Township Police Department to continue handling codes enforcement.
The supervisors reappointed Rettew for township engineering and zoning duties and reappointed Commonwealth Code Inspection Services and Associated Building Inspections (ABI) for building inspection services. The board moved to reappoint Patrick Armstrong, Esq., as Township Solicitor and reappointed Nestico Druby as solicitor to the Zoning Hearing Board. Garcia Garman & Shea, PC was reappointed as the township’s independent auditor.
The board also filled or reaffirmed a range of commission and liaison posts: Faith Bucks will serve on the Palmyra Area Recreation Commission; Kermit Bell was reappointed to the Vacancy Board; Supervisor Bill Bova was appointed to the South Londonderry Township Fire Board; Carl Weidler and Travis Haak were reappointed as members at large to the Fire Board; Ron Fouche and Lisa Daubert were reappointed as the township’s liaisons to the Earned Income Tax Bureau; Kendra Hoffman was reappointed as liaison to the Palmyra Library Board; Mark Panassow was reappointed to the Municipal Authority (five-year term to Dec. 31, 2029); Alex Kinzey was reappointed to the Planning Commission (four-year term to Dec. 31, 2029); and John Horstick was reappointed to the Zoning Hearing Board (three-year term to Dec. 31, 2027). Steve Alger was reappointed to the Historic Commission for a three-year term.
On financial matters, the board approved Fulton Bank and PLGIT as township depositories. Supervisors approved a 3% wage increase for all non-uniform township employees and confirmed wage provisions for uniformed employees as provided by the existing collective bargaining agreement. The board reaffirmed employee benefits as provided in the collective bargaining agreement and employee handbook. The Treasurer’s and Assistant Treasurer’s bond was set at $1,000,000 or otherwise at the level required by the Second-Class Township Code.
Each of the motions was recorded as "motion carried." The reorganization meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
