Town of Murray approves highway budget, water rate increase, fireworks permit and other resolutions

The water rate resolution raised residential charges from $6.00 per 1,000 gallons to $6.25 per 1,000 gallons and adjusted farmer rates from $5.00 per 1,000 gallons to $6.25; it also raised the minimum fee for users of 2,000 gallons or less from $10.00 to $12.50. The chair read the exact rate changes into the record before the motion; the motion was moved by a board member identified as "mister Chris" and seconded by "mister Bauer" and the motion was carried.
The board also declared 13 chairs in highway and break-room areas obsolete and authorized the highway superintendent to discard them. Motions were made, seconds recorded, and the chair announced "Aye" and that the motions carried; individual roll-call votes were not recorded in the transcript.
After action on the resolutions the board addressed old business and waterline-sampling updates, approved payment of bills and the supervisor's financial report, and adjourned the meeting.
