Residents asked how the moratorium affects school solar carport projects. One commenter said the district had built solar carports that store energy and asked for a school liaison to coordinate village and school work. Village staff said they had issued stop‑work orders on two school solar sites earlier in the meeting and described the matter as a legal issue under discussion with the superintendent.
After discussion the board moved to close the hearing, and then moved to adopt the moratorium extension (PLLO 02025). The motion passed on voice vote.
The extension leaves in place the village’s temporary prohibition on accepting or acting on new BESS permit applications while staff completes the draft law and advisory materials. Board members said they will revisit the draft law when counsel and staff return with a completed proposal.
