Adel commission sketches 250th-anniversary plans, seeks city coordination and community partners

Anna Phelps said she had contacted the Adel Chamber and noted the State of Iowa recently paid for an ancestry-research subscription that residents can use; she emailed that information to Hughes as a possible promotional resource. Hughes said the commission could promote events on the new website, the Adel Community Facebook channel and in Adel Living magazine. Commissioners also noted community contributors — including David Sande and Bill Freestone — who have documented local history and granted permission to share photos and posts for commission research and website content.
No formal decisions or budget commitments were made; Hughes will consult the city administrator and the commission will revisit coordination and scheduling.
