During the public comment periods at the July 22 East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors meeting, residents raised several local concerns.
Claudia Malone of Ridge Run Road asked whether the board had decided on deer management services for township open space; the board replied no decision had been made at this time.
Resident Lou DiTonno told the board that plants growing on the fence at the Three Mile Run Road/Park Avenue roundabout are a site-visibility issue and restated his belief that a bridge design he presented previously would prevent flooding at the Stone Edge culvert. Mr. DiTonno offered a contact at a bridge manufacturer; Township Engineer Steve Baluh said the township has communicated with the manufacturer. Supervisor Dave Nyman said the township traffic engineer is to provide a proposal to examine optional bridge designs as authorized at the June meeting. Supervisor Gary Volovnik said he was not in favor of spending tax dollars to replace the culvert if it still floods. The board directed staff to look at the roundabout visibility concern and address it as necessary.
Resident Chuck Weaver asked about crash frequency at State Route 313 at State Route 563 and Ridge Road; township staff attributed most accidents to driver behavior, such as speed and rear-end collisions when making left turns.
The board took no formal votes tied directly to policy changes on deer management or culvert replacement; staff follow-up was directed for traffic and visibility issues.
