460 Main Street cleaned and painted; demolition award tabled
Summary

Town officials reported that windows are installed, the front of the building at 460 Main Street has been painted and the property has been cleaned and photographed. The sale of the building remains scheduled to close at the end of July, and the board said engineers are preparing a design that will return to the town for additional approvals.
Supervisor Watts told Tal the board would give another extension on the building provided the owner continues maintenance and thanked the owner for using personal funds to make improvements.
Separately, the board introduced Resolution No. 2024-136 to accept bids and approve a contractor for asbestos abatement, demolition and debris removal at 460 Main Street. Two bidders were listed in the record (Freemann Project Management Svcs LLC and Dan’s Hauling & Demo), but the resolution left the winning contractor name and contract dollar amount blank and was TABLED during the meeting; the record does not show a finalized award or contract amount.
The board did not adopt a demolition contract on July 1 and will return to the matter when vendor selection and pricing are finalized. The sale of the building remains on schedule to close at the end of July and engineering design work is pending.
