At a May 13 meeting, contractor Ray Hall (S8) representing R & R Building Creation described plans for a 42‑by‑90‑foot addition at 1 Federal Way (Milton and Judith Burke, owners) and said the proposed work sits roughly 109 feet from a delineated wetland. Hall said his team would install hay logs/rollouts and other protections and that a wetland scientist prepared a report the applicant will make available for review.
Commissioners discussed the timing and agreed to inspect the property. The commission scheduled a site visit for June 6 at 09:15 and continued the hearing to June 10, allowing staff and commissioners to confirm that the work lies outside the commission’s jurisdiction or to identify mitigation measures for work in the buffer.
Next steps: staff and the commission will inspect the site on June 6 and review the wetland scientist’s report at the June 10 meeting; Hall said construction is likely in July–September pending approvals and plan lead times.
