Englewood manager reports planning review, lot sales, renovations, Main Street slope work and community events

Englewood — During the March 24 meeting City Manager Eric Smith provided several operational updates on planning, development and city events.
Planning and land use: Smith said the Planning Commission will meet April 1 at 5:30 p.m. to revisit the Terrace Farm subdivision proposal and to consider a conditional-use application to convert the former Jiffy Lube building into a Jimmy Johns restaurant. Council member Andrew Gough told the council that the Planning Commission had tabled the Terrace Farm case at its March meeting and will review an amended proposal on April 1.
Development and facilities: Smith reported that Westbrook Meadows section 4 has sold 21 of 26 available lots and that government center renovations are complete and staff have returned to their regular offices. He also said a slope stabilization project on Main Street has begun; construction is expected to last approximately one month.
Community events: Smith announced a shred event for Englewood residents scheduled April 22 from 10 a.m. until noon in the Englewood Government Center parking lot (limit five boxes or bags per vehicle) and the Annual Easter Egg Hunt set for Saturday, March 28 at Centennial Park beginning at 10:30 a.m.
What happens next: The Planning Commission will reconvene April 1 to consider the Terrace Farm matter and the conditional-use application; no formal council decisions were recorded at the March 24 meeting on those items.
