Committee narrows locations for new park entry signs, requests QR code linking to Open Space site

The Open Space and Recreation Committee reviewed proposed entry sign locations for four parks and asked DPW to assess feasibility at Veteran’s Park; members requested including QR codes on signs that link to the committee’s website.
The Tisbury Open Space and Recreation Committee reviewed proposed locations for entry signs at Owen Park, Church Street, Lake Street and Veteran’s Park at its March 12 meeting. Cheryl Doble said the committee met with designer Steve Zablotny and showed aerial illustrations with agreed locations. For Veteran’s Park the group proposed moving a shed adjacent to the softball field to create a clearer entry; DPW will assess whether that relocation is feasible.
The committee also agreed that new signs should include a QR code linking to the Open Space website to improve public access to park information. Gerard Hokanson and others noted that the Open Space site currently appears in Google Maps results for some parks; the committee plans to coordinate signage and online links to improve visibility.
No formal vote was taken on sign purchases or placement at the March 12 meeting; the DPW assessment will inform future action.
