Commission delegates permit issuance for small addition at 8 Volpi Road with erosion-control conditions

Agent Cameron Covill reviewed an application from Vaughn Sprague for a 44-by-16-foot four-season room on the rear of the house at 8 Volpi Road. Covill reported a portion of mapped wetland is on the property and recommended silt-fence protection for construction activities.
Sprague said the driveway is paved and that any soil excavated for the foundation would be removed from the property. He said the planned addition will have a full foundation to match the house. Commissioners discussed foundation type and potential wetland impacts and recommended installing a silt fence with a short wing off the corner of the house to catch any sediment.
Vice Chair James Loersch moved to delegate to Agent Covill the issuance of permit #1W-24-4 for the construction of the four-season room with two conditions: installation of silt fence and soil trucked offsite. Diane Denunzio seconded; the motion carried 5-0-0.
Covill will issue the permit consistent with those conditions and conduct follow-up inspections as needed.
