Westmoreland County Board of Elections approves election-day support staff and schedules provisional-ballot review

At its May 7 meeting the Westmoreland County Board of Elections unanimously authorized named field technicians and technical call-center staff for the May 19 General Primary and set provisional-ballot review to begin May 22 at 9 a.m.
The Westmoreland County Board of Elections met May 7, 2026 at the Westmoreland County Courthouse and unanimously approved rosters of staff to support the May 19 General Primary.
Commissioner Sean Kertes called the meeting to order at 10:27 a.m. Commissioners Douglas W. Chew and Ted Kopas and County Solicitor Melissa A. Guiddy were present. The board first approved the minutes of a special meeting held April 27, 2026 on a motion by Commissioner Douglas W. Chew, seconded by Commissioner Ted Kopas.
The board then voted, on a motion by Commissioner Chew seconded by Commissioner Kopas and agreed unanimously, to authorize a roster of individuals to serve as Field Technicians on Election Day to support precinct election equipment. The approved names include Brian Matson, Fred Collins, Matt Dye, Brandon Yorty, Dave Ring, Matt Jacobs, Tracy Kerber, Patrick Longanecker, Chris Tantlinger, Mike Soich, Elaine Barner, Jamie Beard, Chris Panichella, Jim Conforti, Rich Smith, Dalton Cogan, Lauren Titterington, Ray Levay Jr., Dawn Fink, Teresa Dubich, Mark Tomallo, Myles Douglas, Terry Onusko, Joseph Shedlock, Brad Beiter, Jason Hauser, Cindy Underwood, Emily Springer, Kelly Ferrington and Zachery Salandro. The motion also allowed for any additional individuals as needed.
The board approved a separate list of staff to operate a Technical Call Center on Election Day to support Field Techs and election equipment. The call-center staff named were Rick Svesnik, Stacy Emery, Wendy Yurko, Lori Campbell and Rob Dent.
Officials also authorized a team to review and count provisional ballots for the May 19 General Primary; counting is scheduled to begin Friday, May 22, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The provisional-board members named were Hannah Lindley, Vicki Musa, Celeste Falatovich, Elizabeth Long, Yvonne Kalata, Anna Craig, David Craig, Karen Beard, Theresa Adamcyzk and Cory Miller, with allowance for additional members as needed.
The board noted the machine inspector list for the May 19 election. The meeting record also shows that there was no public comment during the opportunity for public comment.
On a motion by Commissioner Ted Kopas, seconded by Commissioner Douglas W. Chew, the board unanimously agreed to adjourn at 10:29 a.m. The authorizations put staffing and provisional-ballot processing plans in place ahead of the county’s May 19 primary.
