The board reviewed a layout showing the new monuments on both sides of the walkway leading to the Civil War monument and approved moving forward. Brad Shattuck moved to proceed with the plan, Lindsay Brainard seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members also discussed the possibility of restoring the park’s former wrought-iron fence and asked Lawson to raise the topic with remaining potential donors. The minutes record no public opposition or additional conditions to the authorization.
