At its Jan. 20 meeting, the Scott City Council opened competitive bids for two public-works projects and delayed final action to allow staff review. For driveway work at Magnolia Ridge the council opened bids from Kluesner Construction ($59,600) and Legacy Concrete ($121,140). For a sidewalk extension from Lincoln Street to the Dollar General, Kluesner Construction bid $37,750 and Legacy Concrete bid $38,747. Council Member Victor Phillips moved to table awards until the Feb. 2 meeting so City Administrator Dustin Whitworth can review the bids; Council Member Mike Rhymer seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
On a separate property-disposition item, the council opened a single bid for 1905 Mary St. from Ryan Landewee offering $3,000 plus reasonable closing costs. Council Member Mike Rhymer moved to reject that bid; Council Member Victor Phillips seconded and the motion carried.
Council did not take final award actions on the two public-works items at the Jan. 20 meeting; staff review by the City Administrator was cited as the reason for tabling. The council scheduled further consideration of the bids for its Feb. 2 meeting.
