Board approves one-day beer-and-wine service for new New England Public Theatre shows at Patriot Place

The Select Board approved one-day beer-and-wine service by Bee Hoppy/Wormtown at the new New England Public Theatre at 23 Patriot Place for performances Oct. 9–12 and Oct. 17–19, 2025; organizers described seating capacity (185–200), manager-on-duty arrangements and food plans (prepackaged concessions).
John Male, founding artistic director of New England Public Theatre, told the board Aug. 19 that the theatre will stage a revamped production of Oklahoma beginning Oct. 9 and will work with Wormtown Brewery/Bee Hoppy to provide beer and wine during performances.
Bee Hoppy representatives said they will operate a retail can pour and a functional bar in a constrained area of the venue. Darren (manager on duty) confirmed he will be present at each event; staff confirmed servers will hold TIPS certification. The board discussed ABCC timing, security and building and fire-department walkthroughs and the need for any required entertainment permits.
The board voted to approve the one-day beer-and-wine license requests for the listed October performances and thanked the presenters. Organizers were advised to coordinate with building, fire and health staff on occupancy and food safety before events.
Ending: organizers said tickets would be available at www.anypublictheater.org and promised to leave flyers at town hall.
