The Foxborough Select Board on Aug. 19 approved a three-year collective bargaining agreement with the Foxborough Police Department union (Local 379) that sets cost-of-living adjustments of 3% in year one and 2.5% in years two and three and includes changes to shift differentials, longevity, split shifts and promotion provisions.
Town staff told the board they negotiated a memorandum of understanding during executive session and presented the agreement’s highlights in open session. The package also adjusts night-differential and detective weekend coverage, provides a uniform/cleaning allowance and gives the police chief discretion over certain educational incentives, officials said.
The board voted in favor of the motion to approve the contract; the vote was recorded as unanimous. Town staff and the finance team were credited in the meeting for protecting taxpayer interests while negotiating the settlement.
Next steps: the board and town finance staff will complete any necessary appropriation or ratification steps at the upcoming special town meeting and in follow-up administrative work tied to budget implementation.
