Forest Service seeks public input on campground fee proposal that would raise many single-site rates to $15

The Forest Service notified the Emery County Public Lands Council of a recreation-fee proposal for developed campgrounds on the Manti district that will be posted for public comment June 15–Aug 15.
The presenter said the goal is consistency across roughly 32–33 developed campgrounds: "we're proposing to increase all those at a consistent $15 per site per night" for single sites, with most double sites moving to $20 per night and guard-station rentals proposed at $75 per night to reflect operating costs. Joes Valley is a named exception where higher investment would justify a $20 single-site fee under the proposal.
The proposal would not affect dispersed camping and will be accompanied by public materials (newspaper notices, on-site signs and a story map showing operating costs and projected revenue by site). The presenter invited council members to submit specific questions about particular campgrounds during the comment period.
Council members raised concerns about open-range and grazing interactions, asking that signage clearly warn visitors about livestock and multiple uses; the presenter agreed to include multiple-use language on kiosks and signs to reduce conflicts.
