The Emery County Public Lands Council endorsed a letter supporting the Bureau of Land Management’s proposed sale of a mill-site parcel to Farron (referred to in meeting as Farron/Ferron City).
Ray and another council member circulated a draft before the meeting, and a council member moved to endorse and approve the letter. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; individual rolls were not recorded in the meeting transcript.
The council clarified the BLM’s process and asked about the agency’s position; the Chair and a BLM participant confirmed the sale has been published in the Federal Register and that public comment will close June 15. Council members were encouraged to submit additional comments to the BLM before the close of the comment period.
Council members said they will complete the administrative steps (finalizing the letter and routing it to commissioners as appropriate) and return to review the minutes at a later meeting when quorum permits.
No formal vote tally was recorded in the transcript; the endorsement was registered by general voice assent during the meeting.
