The board reviewed the Central Massachusetts mosquito‑control program’s summer spray schedule. A member read the dates the program plans to be in the city — the third, tenth, seventeenth and 24th of the month — and staff confirmed spraying began that day and will continue through the summer.
Residents were told they can call to request spraying for their street or to request an exemption; staff noted some residents opt out. The program will also deploy traps later in the season and report any findings, including West Nile virus positives, toward the end of August or early September.
The board treated the schedule as informational; no action was required beyond public notification and routine coordination with the regional program.
