Manager Edward C. Wagner told the Lower Pottsgrove Board on Aug. 5 that he and Commissioners Raymond Lopez and Robert Mohollen met with Limerick Township and PennDOT officials to review development proposals near the Sanatoga Interchange. Wagner said PennDOT recommends construction on the eastbound ramp and that the township may need to acquire roughly one acre of adjacent property to accommodate the work.
Wagner said he has contacted a developer with property adjacent to the ramp about potential right-of-way needs. He also noted the Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Commission is updating its regional comprehensive plan, last adopted in 2015, to incorporate new census data and development trends. Wagner said a meeting is scheduled with Marley Bice of the Montgomery County Planning Commission to discuss how Lower Pottsgrove should interact with the updated plan; Tom Troutman and Commissioner Lopez will attend.
The board received the update as informational; no formal action on the interchange or acquisitions was taken at the meeting. Manager Wagner said he will continue coordination with PennDOT and developers and report back as plans and any right-of-way needs become clearer.
