Board Chair Jerry Klasen raised a request at the Feb. 19 Prescott Public Library Board meeting to explore extending library hours to match the schedule used by the Lakeland library. The board asked Director Carissa Langer to gather additional information for a future discussion.
Langer had reported increases in Mississippi Room rentals and program attendance, which she attributed in part to outreach by staff member Darien; the board commended Darien for her work. The board did not take action to change hours at the Feb. 19 meeting; members directed the director to return with data and options.
Members framed the item as informational and exploratory: no motion to change hours was made. The board assigned rotation of policies and procedures and other standard follow-ups for the next meeting.
