CAB approves minutes; members announce TRPA outreach and public concerns about Tahoe Biltmore/Cal Neva and workforce housing

During general public comment, several residents raised questions about the Tahoe Biltmore/Tahoe Biltmore/Waldorf Astoria and Cal Neva properties, reporting a letter of intent from Cal Neva (described by commenters) and expressing concern about large proposed builds and local fire‑safety and housing impacts. Kathy Julian said Cal Neva representatives indicated plans for luxury condominiums and limited on‑site employee housing, and urged pursuit of the old elementary school site for workforce housing to reduce pressure on local rentals.

The CAB recorded these comments for future agenda consideration and said staff would try to invite a Cal Neva representative or other relevant parties to brief the group at a later meeting. Mark Sasseway moved to adjourn the meeting; Denise Davis seconded and the board voted aye with no opposition.
