Crawford County supervisors approve appointments, VOIP move and set budget amendment hearing

The Crawford County Board of Supervisors met May 26 in the courthouse board room and approved a series of administrative and personnel actions, including appointments to the county solid waste agency and a hearing on a budget amendment.
Chair Craig Dozark opened the meeting at 9:00 a.m. and noted Supervisors Schultz, Muhlbauer, Heiden and Rosburg were present. The Board read and approved the minutes of the previous meeting.
The Board recognized claims for the Public Health Department and approved claims for all other departments. The minutes list vendor payments totaling $206,360.46, with the Secondary Road fund accounting for $142,903.87 of that total.
On personnel business the Board approved a wage change for Elliott Koch, Maintenance Employee I in the Engineer’s Office; the minutes record the action but do not specify the new wage amount. The Board also approved appointments to the Crawford County Area Solid Waste Agency: Jay Ford, Eileen Sailer and Kyle Schultz; that motion, made by Supervisor Heiden and seconded by Supervisor Muhlbauer, passed unanimously.
On administrative items the Board approved a VOIP project move covering 19 phone lines and allowing the State to use them after a motion by Supervisor Heiden, seconded by Supervisor Schultz. The Board also approved an alcohol license application for Lehan Property (motion by Supervisor Schultz, seconded by Supervisor Rosburg) and approved Special Fund (0003) for Public Health (motion by Supervisor Heiden, seconded by Supervisor Muhlbauer). All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously.
Board members discussed low attendance at county safety meetings and asked that staff follow up; that discussion did not result in a formal directive in the minutes. The Board approved a motion by Supervisor Muhlbauer, seconded by Supervisor Heiden, to set a public hearing on a FY2026 budget amendment for June 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ board room on the courthouse second floor.
The Board adjourned at 11:05 a.m. Agendas for the next meeting are posted and available at the courthouse on the Friday preceding the meeting at 4:30 p.m.
