Cudahy council unanimously approves equipment purchase, zoning map, traffic change and business recognitions; ambulance fees updated

The Common Council of the City of Cudahy met Nov. 3, 2015, at the municipal building and unanimously approved a package of routine and substantive items, including a $38,400 purchase agreement for a mini excavator, adoption of the city zoning map, passage of an ordinance to remove a stop sign at Packard Avenue and Plankinton Avenue, three resolutions recognizing local businesses, and an update to the city ambulance fee schedule.
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. and the roll call showed Mayor John Hohenfeldt and council members Moralez, Schissel, Hollenbeck and Bartoshevich present; Ald. Litkowiec was absent and excused. After certifying open meeting requirements the council approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from multiple standing committees.
DPW Director Lange asked the council to approve a purchase agreement with Rent-to-Own for a mini excavator to cover a remaining balance of $38,400. Ald. Bartoshevich moved the measure and Ald. Hollenbeck seconded; the council approved the agreement on a unanimous roll-call vote, with the motion noted as subject to review by the Finance Director and the City Attorney.
The council then approved the City of Cudahy Zoning Map on a motion by Ald. Hollenbeck, seconded by Ald. Schissel; that motion also passed unanimously. Council members did not record extended debate in the minutes.
Council members passed Ordinance No. 2421, authorizing removal of the southbound stop sign at Packard Avenue and Plankinton Avenue, on a motion by Ald. Bartoshevich and a second by Ald. Schissel. The minutes record the vote as unanimous.
The council approved Resolution Nos. 6978–6980 recognizing PDQ Tooling Inc., Jen’s Sweet Treats, and the South Milwaukee Downtown Market for the South Shore Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Outstanding Business Awards. Each resolution passed on unanimous roll-call votes. Council also approved Resolution No. 6981 to update the City of Cudahy ambulance charge fee schedule; the minutes do not list the specific new fee amounts.
The meeting concluded with public comment and adjournment at 7:14 p.m. The minutes show unanimous votes on all motions recorded. The minutes were passed and approved Nov. 17, 2015, and signed by Mayor John Hohenfeldt and Clerk Dennis Broderick.
