South Londonderry board approves 2025 pension obligations, facility and event agreements

The South Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors on Sept. 10 approved a package of fiscal and administrative items, including the township’s Minimum Municipal Obligations (MMOs) for 2025 and several community agreements.
Jack Custer, vice chairman, moved to approve the 2025 MMO for the police pension plan in the amount of $129,022.87; William Bova seconded and the motion carried. Custer then moved and Bova seconded approval of the 2025 MMO for the non‑uniform pension plan ($91,000.00) and the 2025 MMO for the defined contribution pension plan ($29,710.75); both motions carried.
The board also approved a Lawn Baseball Field Reservation Agreement with the Palmyra Civic Baseball Association and authorized Manager John Eberly to advertise the sale of several highway department items no longer in use. The board approved a special‑event permit for the Sticks and Biscuits 5K and adopted the township’s 2025 meeting schedule.
In other business, the supervisors approved a financial security reduction for the Hinkle Road RV Storage Facility based on an engineering review dated Aug. 7, 2024 by Rettew. The board approved Resolution 12‑2024 to exonerate the outstanding balance on the Lawn Fire Company fire truck as of the end of 2024; that motion passed with Vice Chairman Custer recorded as abstaining.
Most motions were made by Custer and seconded by Bova unless otherwise noted. The meeting record indicates each motion carried; individual roll‑call tallies were not included in the minutes except for the noted abstention on Resolution 12‑2024.
The board took no votes or formal action on an intermunicipal snow‑plowing contract with the Borough of Mt. Gretna at this meeting; Chairwoman Faith Bucks said the township will table consideration until the borough’s contract is received from that municipality’s attorney.
The supervisors adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
