ERTH District 3 approves logo, advances planning comments and presses county on peer‑center services
Summary
ERTH approved a logo 5-0, submitted combined comments on the EIR/General Plan/East Lake Area Plan, and sent a letter urging Behavioral Health to keep Big Oak Peer Center services in place during a reorganization; several land‑use, road‑safety and cannabis planning items were also discussed.
At its May 6 meeting ERTH District 3 handled routine business, approved an ERTH logo and discussed a range of local planning and service issues.
ERTH members approved the April 1 minutes 5-0 earlier in the meeting and later voted 5-0 to approve pursuing an ERTH logo; the group will prepare a flyer soliciting public submissions. ERTH reported it submitted a combined comment letter on the EIR, General Plan and East Lake Area Plan after several GPAC/LAPAC meetings; CDD will update plans with an anticipated fall review by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors.
On county services, ERTH said it sent a letter to Behavioral Health asking that the Big Oak Peer Center services continue through the end of the year to allow alternate assistance to be implemented; ERTH reported Behavioral Health agreed to maintain the shower trailer and food distribution services at the Living Room location for six months during transition. ERTH approved sending the letter 5-0.
Other items: ERTH noted requests for vendor presentations on geothermal (deferred until more specifics are available), reported the Derna cell tower appeal is under CDD review, and flagged several cannabis projects for Planning Commission review or further redlines. Road Safety Committee updates included pending school-safety signage and continued compilation of priority safety issues. The District 3 MAC’s April 29 meeting received local press coverage and its handouts were posted to ERTH’s website.
Next steps: ERTH will prepare a flyer for logo submissions, continue to track planning updates reported by CDD and work with community groups on ratepayer and road-safety meetings.
