Bayside board holds closed session on North Shore Library Foundation; reconvenes with no action

During its June 19 meeting the Village of Bayside Board of Trustees moved into closed session under Section 19.85(1)(g) of the Wisconsin Statutes to confer with legal counsel regarding strategy related to potential litigation or matters involving the North Shore Library Foundation. Trustee Mike Barth moved to adjourn to closed session at 6:35 p.m.; Trustee Margaret Zitzer seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The board held a closed session of about 36 minutes and then reconvened in open session pursuant to Section 19.85(2). A motion to reconvene, made by Trustee Zitzer and seconded by Trustee Barth, carried unanimously. The agenda item for "Possible Action on items in closed session" recorded no action taken.
Separately during the open portion of the meeting Trustee Zitzer reported on the North Shore Library project: a seven-month build with an estimated completion date of Feb. 6, 2026; the library is starting a three-year strategic plan and plans a five-year financial plan and a grand-opening committee. Village Manager Andy Pederson summarized donation levels and said additional donations would reduce required community contributions. No votes resulted from the closed session discussion.
