Saugus board reviews winter operations, approves minutes and shares community announcements

The Town Manager updated the Saugus Board of Selectmen on recent snow and ice operations, commending the Department of Public Works, public safety personnel and contractors for road and public‑area maintenance following winter storms. The manager also discussed winter expenses, reserve funds and the upcoming municipal budget process and anticipated Finance Committee meetings.
The board approved minutes from the February 5, 2026 E‑Bike Forum and the February 11, 2026 regular meeting by unanimous votes. No members of the public offered comments during the public comment periods recorded in the minutes.
Selectmen used the announcements portion of the agenda to note community events and condolences. Selectman Michael Serino thanked DPW and announced the Garden Club's 'Books in Bloom' event; Selectman Jeffrey Cicolini echoed appreciation for snow crews and extended condolences to families who recently lost relatives; Vice Chair Anthony Cogliano extended condolences following the death of retired Saugus Police Sergeant Shipman. Chairman Debra Panetta announced upcoming community cultural events and reminded residents the Town Meeting warrant closes April 8 and that the next Selectmen meeting is March 24 at 7 PM.
