Brielle Planning/Zoning Board elects chair, names professionals and sets 2026 meeting dates

The Brielle Planning/Zoning Board reorganized on Jan. 13, electing Corinne Trainor to continue as chair and selecting Jay Jones as vice chair in unanimous roll-call votes. The meeting opened with the Sunshine Statement and a roll call of members.
The board adopted a resolution to retain David Clark, Esq. (Dilworth Paxson LLP) for legal services and Alan Hilla, Jr. (H2M Architects & Engineers) for engineering services for the 2026 contract year. The resolution states both professionals submitted Business Entity Disclosure Certifications and that the contracts, each for one year, may exceed $17,500 and will be published in the Coast Star. The board also designated the Asbury Park Press and the Coast Star as its official newspapers for legal notices.
Karen S. Brisben was appointed Board Secretary for 2026 at an annual salary of $11,500. The board approved the 2026 regular meeting schedule, noting the Feb. 17 meeting date was retained because of a large hearing expected that month. All listed resolutions were adopted by roll call with no recorded no votes.
The board secretary’s annual report noted the board heard eight applications in 2025 (two final site plans, one minor subdivision approval, one minor subdivision denial, and four variance-relief matters), plus housing-element work and settlements. The meeting adjourned at 8:46 p.m.
