Larry Lawfer, chair of the Local Historic District Study Committee, and Brian O'Halloran presented a draft Local Historic District bylaw to the Master Plan Implementation Committee on Oct. 15, 2025 and asked municipal boards and committees to provide feedback before the study committee submits the article for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
Lawfer said the study committee plans to hold two public meetings as part of the outreach process and that the committee recommended contacting the Chamber of Commerce and notifying all property owners within the proposed district. The minutes record these outreach suggestions but do not include a draft map, bylaw text, or a submission timeline beyond the target of the 2026 Annual Town Meeting.
The MPIC record does not show a vote on the bylaw itself; committee members were asked to submit feedback to the study committee ahead of formal submission.
