The Town of Newburgh Planning Board on May 21 approved a set of field changes for the Darigo Solar project that staff characterized as minor adjustments to landscaping, drainage sequencing and fencing around a former remediation area.
Pat Hines of MHE told the board the applicant had worked with the town’s landscape consultant and placed additional trees along access drives; the applicant proposed installing a stockade vinyl fence where appropriate and replacing damaged sections of an existing four-foot fence adjacent to a DEC remediation area rather than constructing a new eight-foot perimeter fence in that location. Hines said the applicant sought approval to post a payment in lieu of installing a culvert under Patton Road now because of unresolved easement issues; the payment would be reserved for future use to address drainage if easements are resolved or an alternative is implemented.
Board members discussed a neighbor request for a white privacy vinyl fence in one location; after motions, the board treated the items as field changes and voted unanimously to accept them.
What’s next: The applicant will implement the field changes in the constructed phase, post the agreed payment if needed, and coordinate with the town for any documentation required to confirm that the DEC remediation area fencing and landscaping meet the consultant’s recommendations.
