North Berwick board approves $7.58 million FY27 warrant, clears two referendum questions for Town Meeting

The North Berwick Select Board on March 17 approved the final FY27 warrant totaling $7,584,037 and cleared two referendum questions for inclusion on the Town Meeting ballot.
Dwayne Morin reported the Budget Committee completed its review; the proposed FY27 budget represents an 8.66% increase overall, with taxation projected to rise about 4%, equal to a $0.05 increase in the mil rate. "The final budget stands at $7,584,037.00," Morin told the Board.
Selectperson Charles Galemmo moved to approve the Final Warrant for presentation at Town Meeting; Selectperson Michael Johnson Jr. seconded. The motion carried on a 4-0 vote.
The board also approved two referendum questions for Town Meeting: one on Special Event Centers and one revising the definition of a Bed and Breakfast. Both measures were advanced on motions by Galemmo and seconded by Selectperson Michael Johnson Sr.; each passed 4-0.
In the same series of procedural votes, the board appointed Susan Caler, Linda Pedersen, Nancy Dennett, Debra Bodwell and Denise Mayfield as ballot clerks for Town Meeting (motion by Galemmo; second by Johnson Jr.; vote 4-0).
What this means: The approved warrant and referendum questions will appear on the Town Meeting warrant for voters to consider. The board did not amend the budget figures at this meeting and deferred detailed debate to the Town Meeting process.
