Village administrators used the May 14 meeting to outline service changes and upcoming community programs.
Administrative staff said water-bill payments and permit processing will be handled at the police department (first floor) during regular business hours (9 a.m.–3 p.m., Monday–Friday). Residents may continue to pay via Epay on the village website or by mail. For water main breaks the village asked residents to text 708-270-8180 with their name and address rather than call. Staff also urged residents to sign up for text alerts to receive updates.
The Robbins Fire Department and building department offered help installing free smoke detectors for residents who request assistance. A Mobile DMV will be at the William Leonard Library on May 16 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The Park District will celebrate its 45th anniversary on May 18 (3–6 p.m.) with bicycle registration, an obstacle course, safety talks and free food; the Park District also requested a street closure for June 15, which the board approved. The Anti-Cruelty Society will present a Dog Wellness Fair June 1 at the Robbins Fire Department including core vaccines and microchipping; village tags can be registered and purchased for $12 on that day.
Public Works reported repairs to several machines, completion of the Kedzie station repair, and a quote of $22,000 for a larger trailer to carry equipment. The department is hiring water clerks and other water-department staff. Resident Michael Culliane said there are large potholes at the end of 137th St near Keystone and asked for repaving. Ms. Tuggle and Ms. Echols asked for additional information about the May 17 fundraising event and the DACRA system, respectively. A representative from Cook County Board President Preckwinkle's office provided information about the president's radio appearances. Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson announced a Public Safety meeting on May 16 at 4:45 p.m.; a community clean-up was announced to begin June 15 and flyers will be distributed in early June.
The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
