Council approves emergency payment to cover $4,000 lift-station shortfall

Carlisle City Council on Feb. 25 approved Resolution 7-25 as an emergency measure to authorize a then-and-now certificate addressing a $4,000 shortfall on a previously approved lift-station contract.
Community Development Director Alaina Geres explained the lift station project had been previously approved at $88,000; the contractor invoiced $92,000. Council voted to suspend the three-reading rule and approve the $4,000 increase by unanimous roll call so the Warren County Water and Sewer Department invoice could be paid and work continue.
Service Director John Coffey provided background on why the work was required; council did not move additional appropriations beyond the emergency certificate. The resolution passed immediately and was recorded as an emergency action.
