Design Review Board approves five routine applications on consent

At its July 30 meeting the Saratoga Springs Design Review Board approved five items on a single consent motion, clearing a set of routine architectural and historic‑review items that staff and board members characterized as final, minor tweaks.

The board’s consent package included: historic review of cupola details for a new garage at 89 Court Street; exterior modifications and signage for the Ambler Hotel at 188 South Broadway; an addition of a carport to an approved parking structure at 78 Church Street; wall‑mounted and canopy signage for the Marriott at 176 South Broadway; and porch modifications at 180 Circular Street. Chair of the board moved approval; Mr. Wood seconded the motion and the board voted in favor.

The items were presented as mature applications that had undergone earlier rounds of review. One board member noted most had “gone through thorough review” and described the consent items as “just minor tweaks toward the end.” No members of the public objected during the consent period and the board took a single roll call vote to approve the group.

The approvals clear each applicant to proceed with the minor work described in their filings. The board’s clerk will record the approvals in the minutes and the city will update permit files accordingly.

The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for August 6, 2025.
