Union City Borough reported receipt of a $100,000 ECGRA Renaissance grant and approved recommended Renaissance awards at its June 25 meeting.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told the council that the ECGRA Renaissance grant had been received in the amount of $100,000 and that the Union City Volunteer Fire Department repaid its ambulance loan in full ($59,250). The council reviewed six Renaissance grant applications totaling $27,127.65 and approved four recommended awards totaling $17,675, leaving a balance of $750.49 in the current grant account. Two remaining applications totaling $9,452.65 were approved to carry over to the 2024/2025 grant period.
Councilor Joyce moved and Councilor Osborn seconded approval of the recommended grants; the motion carried unanimously. Borough staff will notify awardees and schedule fund disbursement per the grant program requirements.
