The council heard that the County Manager presented a proposed budget to the Board of County Commissioners on May 5 and asked departments to explore additional cost reductions. The proposed budget includes increases to fees for adult programming, tournament reservations and shelter reservations; council members were told department revenues and expenses will be reevaluated as part of that process.
Chair Trevor Robinson updated the council on a disc-golf consultation that included representatives from the New Hope Bird Alliance, disc-golf advocates, DEAPR staff and a professional facilitator. Robinson said the group walked the proposed path to identify sections that may need relocation; staff indicated hope for a compromise and for adopting a final design that would allow construction to begin in the fall.
No fee changes were adopted at the PRC meeting; the PRC recorded the budget direction and will await BOCC budget decisions. No formal vote on the disc-golf design was recorded; staff will continue outreach and refinement.
