The Parks and Recreation Council heard an update that the Orange County Trails Plan draft was presented to the Board of County Commissioners on April 14 and will now be circulated for review by advisory boards.
Council members were told the OUT Board will attend the next PRC meeting to discuss the Bicycle/Pedestrian Plan alongside the Trails Plan. The draft is scheduled to be presented to the Planning Board on July 1 and the PRC plans to review the draft again in August to prepare final recommendations for the BOCC.
Health department and department on aging advisory boards have been invited to review the draft but dates for those reviews had not been scheduled at the May 6 meeting. The PRC did not take a final vote or make formal recommendations at the meeting; it recorded next steps and coordination with other advisory bodies.
