The council approved a large group of appointment resolutions introduced by the chair at the county executive’s request, confirming dozens of volunteer appointments to commissions including the Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission, Commission for Women, Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission and the Multimodal Transportation Board.
Council Resolution 56 (appointment of Jason Sow to the Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission) was moved to the table and the motion to table passed.
Later in the session the council voted to remove Council Resolution 6 from the table (appointment of James R. Bartlett to the Historic Preservation Commission). The council accepted an amendment to adjust the appointment’s expiration date so the appointment term was not cut short and then approved CR6 as amended.
Votes on these items were recorded by the clerk during the session and passed with affirmative council majorities; the council adjourned after completing the agenda.
