City Manager Amanda Wilson explained that Gunnison lacks a full-time economic development staff and that the proposed external entity would coordinate public, private and nonprofit leaders to implement adopted strategic initiatives. Councilor Schwartz moved and Councilor Zahradka seconded the authorization; the roll-call vote was unanimous (Zahradka, Schwartz, Plata, Ballesteros, Ahonen voting yes) and the motion carried.
Council discussed the partnership concept and initial formation steps; staff will proceed with formation activities under the authorization granted by council.
