The City of Gunnison City Council on April 28 recommended Nicole Bogenschuetz as the municipalities’ representative to the Gunnison Basin Roundtable for a five-year term.
City Manager Amanda Wilson described the appointment process for the basin-wide Roundtable, which is charged under Colorado’s Water for the 21st Century Act with coordinating water management across the Gunnison Basin. Councilor Zahradka moved to recommend Bogenschuetz; Councilor Ahonen seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote (Zahradka, Schwartz, Plata, Ballesteros and Ahonen voting yes).
The recommendation will allow the appointed representative to participate in basin-wide planning and coordination among municipalities and other basin stakeholders. No dissenting votes were recorded; the item was taken as a matter of council business and carried without further discussion.
